Ships are the main focus of the game. Players can build and customize their ships to match their play style and the kinds of contracts they want to take on.

Various ship vessels can be purchased from shipyards. There are very few requirements of a ship, but it is generally advised to set up life support systems early, followed by propulsion.

Steam Workshop ship hulls will be automatically added as shipyard templates if they meet the following criteria:

  • $1M maximum value
  • At least 1 docking port
  • Less than 5 pieces of equipment, not including docking ports and doors
  • There must not be any pipes, cables, resources, or crew.

Sharing ships[edit | edit source]

To share a ship:

  1. Press Esc to enter the main menu and click Export Ship.
  2. Give the ship a name.
  3. Open File Explorer, enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Introversion\LastStarship\ships into the address bar and press Enter.
  4. Copy the ship's .ship file and share it in your preferred way.

To import a shared ship:

  1. Save the .ship file you received to the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Introversion\LastStarship\ships directory.
  2. Run the game and click Ship Editor in the main menu.
  3. Select the file you saved in step 1 and click Load Ship.
