Players fleets of multiple ships are still in very early stages of development. Players can purchase empty ship vessels at Shipyards and must build the usual necessary systems.

Ships in the player's fleet will always be in the same star system and travel through hyperspace together on a shared FTL Drive. So long as each ship has a functioning thruster to align a jump, it can always move to a different star system. This is useful if vital items or resources are needed but unavailable in the Trade screen. Ships cannot be sold or removed from the fleet. To be rid of an unwanted ship, the player must target and destroy it or allow it to be destroyed by hostiles.

Before accepting delivery or transport contracts, it is essential to ensure that the actively selected ship is the one that should receive the contract items or civilians, as these cannot be transferred.

When purchasing items for a ship, the actively selected ship will receive the items being purchased. Resources, items, and crew members can be transferred between ships using the Logistics tab.

Transferring Items[edit | edit source]

Fleet logistics tab showing a transfer from Ship 1 to Ship 2
Request to move a docking port from Ship 1 to Ship 2.

Resources, items, and crew members can be transferred between docked ships. Additionally, drones can transfer resources and items (but not crew) if both ships have a drone bay. There is a limit to how far apart ships can be for this.

Using the Logistics Dialog[edit | edit source]

  1. Select the ship you want to transfer from, which will highlight the column green.
  2. Find the row for the item you want to transfer. Click where it intersects the column of the destination ship to schedule one item for transfer. Shift-click will schedule 5 at a time.

You can schedule more transfers than you have items, and the crew/drones will continue transferring items as they become available.

History[edit | edit source]

  • Update2.rc1: Mission descriptions now correctly show the ship name they are assigned to.
